Most people think that the cat is an unintelligent (আনইনটেলিজেন্ট – নির্বোধ) animal, fond of ease (ইস – আরাম) and caring little for anything but mice and milk.
বেশিরভাগ মানুষই মনে করে যে বিড়াল হয় একটা নির্বোধ প্রাণী, আরামপ্রিয় এবং ইঁদুর ও দুধ ছাড়া অন্য কোনো কিছুতে বিশেষ আগ্রহী নয়।
But a cat has really more character than most human beings, and gets a great deal more satisfaction (স্যাটিসফ্যাকশান – সন্তুষ্টি) out out of life.

When the family sits down to tea, the cat puts in an appearance (অ্যাপিয়ারেন্স – উপস্থিতি) to get his share.
যখন পরিবার চা খেতে বসে, তখন বিড়ালটি উপস্থিত হয় তার ভাগটা পাওয়ার জন্য।
He purrs (পারস – ঘড়ঘড় আওয়াজ করা) noisily and rub (রাব – ঘষা) himself against the legs of the family members.

If there is a guest at the table the cat is particularly civil to him, because the guest is likely to have the best of what is offered.

When the family has finished tea, and gathers (গ্যাদার্স – জড়ো হওয়া) round the fire, the cat casually (ক্যাসুয়ালি – উদ্দেশ্যহীনভাবে) goes out of the room.
