Mild the mist (মিস্ট – কুয়াশা) upon the hill,
পাহাড়ের উপর হালকা কুয়াশা,
Telling not of storms to-morrow;
বলে দেয় আগামীকাল ঝড়ের সম্ভবনা নেই;
No; the day has wept (ওয়েপ্ট – কেঁদেছে) its fill,
না; দিনটা প্রানভরে কেঁদেছে,
Spent (স্পেন্ট – অতিবাহিত করা) its store of silent sorrow.
তার নীরব দুঃখের ভান্ডার অতিবাহিত করছে।
Oh, I’m gone back to the days of youth,
ওহ, আমি ফিরে গেছি আমার শৈশবের দিনগুলিতে,
I am a child once more;

As thick as morning’s tears (টিয়ার্স – চোখের জল);
সকালের অশ্রুবিন্দুর (শিশির) মতোই গাঢ়;
And dreamy (ড্রিমি – স্বপ্নালু) scents of fragrance pass
সুমিষ্ট গন্ধের স্বপ্নালু গন্ধ বয়ে যায়
That breathe of other years.
