His First Flight Question Answer
1) What was the first catch of the seagull’s older brother?
Ans: The herring fish was the first catch of the seagull’s older brother.
2) Why did the seagull feel the heat?
Ans: The seagull felt the heat because he was weak as he had not eaten since the previous nightfall.
3) Why did the seagull dive at the fish?
Ans: The seagull dived at the fish because he was maddened by hunger as he had not eaten since the previous nightfall.
4) What happened when the seagull soared upwards?
Ans: When the seagull soared upwards, he uttered a joyous scream and flapped his wings again. Making a loud noise with the wings, his mother flew past him. His father flew over him screaming and his two brothers and sister flew around him.
5) Why was the seagull afraid when he ran forward to the brink of the ledge?
Ans: When the seagull ran forward to the brink of the ledge, he was afraid because he felt certain that his wings would never support him and he fell on the sea stretched down beneath the ledge.

Ans: On the plateau, the seagull’s two brothers and sister were dozing with their heads sunk into their wings.

Ans: The young seagull found an easier way to reach his parents without flying by moving northwards along the cliff. But there was no ledge to walk upon and the ledge ended in a sheer fall. So he could not reach his parents without flying.

Ans: The young seagull was surprised because he found his mother stopped coming to him with the piece of fish after coming just within the reach of his beak.
